- cover on med heat but leave lid open slightly.
- you can sub sausage in place of bacon.
- you can add small pieces of potato if you like.
- my grandmother would add bits of pumpkin.
- let it all cook for about 45 minutes. don't let it dry out. if you see it's getting dry turn off heat and close lid.
- also remember to remove leaves at the end.
