  1. In a bowl, add in both flours, yeast, sugar, salt, melted margarine and mix well
  2. Add in the warm milk little by little as you check consistency to kneadable
  3. Start kneading and continue doing so till the flour is no longer sticky
  4. Oil lightly your bowl and your dough and cover to proof till well risen
  5. Once risen, knead again to remove air, grease your baking and put your dough in shaping it nicely to fit in tin
  6. Make a few shallow cuts on dough and cover for the second time proofing
  7. Meanwhile pre heat your oven at 180dg.
  8. Once proven, brush in egg wash or milk on top of your dough and put in oven to cook for 35 min
  9. The aroma is heavenly
  10. Brown bread now ready

A dark pan may make the bread brown prematurely. Try toasting the bread and slathering with a little salted butter. As there is no formal definition of 'brown bread', the flour used may be white, with the loaf's colour commonly enhanced with dark malt or brown sugar.
